Description:
| Beginning with a language and cultural orientation program, Santiago program participants spend their first few days becoming acquainted with the host culture and reviewing survival Spanish. Tours of the city, the university, and local attractions provide an opportunity to become familiar with Santiago and other program participants before students join their host families.
Academic study trips and excursions take students beyond the city limits to experience more of South America. Mendoza and Valparaiso, San Pedro de Atacama, and Valdivia have been favored locations in prior semesters. Most students also take advantage of spring break to explore the richness of Chilean life and culture on their own.
You will American University (AU) undergraduate credit, which is readily transferable to other colleges and universities. The following courses are offered in the program: Contemporary Chile: Politics, Economics, and Society; History of Chile (19th and 20th Century); Spanish Conversation and Composition; Internship. | |
