A country the size of Texas, Spain was invaded by the Greeks, the Romans, the Visigoths and the Moors, and each of these invaders left their mark on the Spanish culture. Spain boasts ancient castles and walled cities, world famous museums such as the Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Picasso Museum, and astounding architecture that spans every genre of history. In Spain you will experience a country that is contrasted by its historic monuments and modern lifestyle. No matter where you are placed, you are sure to enjoy Spain! Students are usually placed in public schools. However, if a student chooses to attend a private school, the additional cost will be the paticipant's responsibility. Most private schools cost around $400-$500 per semester. In some private schools the students have to wear uniforms.
When applying to Spain students are required to obtain an Apostille certificate for their school transcripts, as well as for a parental authorization letter giving the student permission to study in a Spanish high school. In addition to the Apostilles, the application process for a visa can take up to 6 weeks to finalize. AYUSA will offer assistance in these processes.
