| This four-week study tour will provide participants with an introduction to the environmental and cultural diversity of contemporary China. Beginning in Beijing, we will travel to the grasslands of Inner Mongolia, then by coach and train to the ancient capital of Xian, via Wutai Shan, one of China's four sacred Buddhist Mountains. From Xian, we will fly to Lhasa, after which we will spend six days traveling in Tibet. From Lhasa, we will fly to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, where we will visit the giant Buddha at Leshan as well as Emei Mountain before returning to Chengdu for a flight to Guilin, famous for its unique natural scenery.
