Description:
| The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest and finest universities in the world. Since 1923, when the University of Cambridge first provided short periods of study for visitors from all around the world, its International Summer Schools have grown into a large and lively international community, with over 500 students from more than 50 countries. The intellectual, artistic and historic environment of Cambridge provides traditional and non-traditional students a unique opportunity to explore the history and culture of Great Britain. The International Summer Schools offer classes in many fields including politics, history, literature, architecture, science, sociology, and the arts as well as courses relating to English life and culture. Two class periods and an optional general lecture are held each morning. One afternoon class and an optional evening lecture complete the day. Participants may enroll in up to three classes.
Alternatively, Special Subject Programs offer more focused study of a particular subject. Participants attend daily plenary lectures in addition to special subject classes of their choice.
Both the International Summer Schools and the Special Subject Programs offer small class sizes. Plenary and general lectures are given by senior members of the University and distinguished visiting speakers. Prior to departure, the Cambridge Program will provide recommended reading lists, course syllabus, and suggested essay topics for courses selected. | |
