Description:
| Copenhagen is a study in contrasts: Old World charm and the most modern public transportation; pedestrian-only walking streets and plazas with convenient access to movie theatres, clubs, and stores; a vibrant European metropolis of over 1.5 million people, yet a small town feel where you can meet your friends at a café. Denmark’s International Study Program (DIS) is an internationally renowned study abroad institution located in the very center of Copenhagen, giving you easy access to extensive educational resources. The DIS courses constantly take advantage of these resources to enhance your learning. You can study for a summer, semester or year in a wide range of disciplines, focusing on European themes and issues. Courses are taught in English in the following subject areas: Humanities & Social Sciences, International Business, Architecture & Design, Biology, Medical Practice & Policy, and Child Development & Diversity. Specialized summer programs also include Biology & Geology in Iceland. Most of your classes include several course-integrated field study events during the semester. Some of these include the Glyptotek Museum, the Danish Parliament, the Royal Danish Ballet, the Central Bank of Denmark, and the World Health Organization European Headquarters. You can also choose to participate in optional study excursions to Prague, Russia, Berlin, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Brussels, Poland, Switzerland, and France. | |
