Description:
| The Spanish on the Road in Mexico Program is designed for students interested in learning the Spanish language, Mexican society and Latin American culture. In addition to Spanish language development, the program focuses on the economic, political, historical, anthropologic, literary and artistic evolution of Mexico and Latin America. The curriculum consists of on-the-road' instruction, field-based projects and cultural excursions. Faculty and staff from Alliant International University (AIU) accompany the group and teach courses during the program. Students earn 6 college credits. Transcripts are issued by Alliant International University, an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States. This 5-week summer program is open to secondary, precollege and college students.
[OBJECTIVE] The Spanish on the Road Program allows students to learn the Spanish language in its natural environment and become immersed in the Mexican society and Latin American culture through travel in large cities, countryside villages and indigenous townships, interaction with Mexican peers, local merchants and general population; visits to archeological sites, ecological parks, volcanoes and coastal beaches; sightseeing excursions and cultural activities; and homestay with local people.
[TRAVEL ITINERARY] The travel itinerary includes, but not limited to, the following locations: Mexico City, Teotihuacan (Aztec capital and pyramids), Tepotzolan and Tula, Queretaro, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Morella, Patzucuaro Islands of Janitzio and Yunnuen, Tzintzuntzan and Quiroga Lakeside villages, Playa Azul, Uruopan (Volcanoe of Paricutin), Toluca, Zitacuaro, Metepec, Malinalco Pyramids, Shrine at Chalma, and more.
[TUTION] Summer program tuition $5,595 US. The program tuition includes all academic fees, medical and travel insurance, housing, transportation in Mexico, entry fees, on-site support, and sightseeing and cultural excursions in Mexico. | |
