Description:
| Volunteers teach English to elementary school children ranging in age from 6-13 years. Many schools lack the funds to provide effective English language training. Native or fluent English speakers with or without formal teaching experience can contribute greatly to a child’s educational development.
Most schools in Nepal follow fixed courses for teaching English. Volunteers teach school courses in collaboration with local English teachers. Volunteers are also encouraged to coordinate additional activities such as games, painting, health education, or other activities. Volunteers typically teach 2-3 hours a day for six days a week.
Located along the ridge of the Himalayan mountain range between India and China, Nepal offers a splendid venue for international students who have a sincere desire to experience and learn from a unique culture, religion, and people. The geographic diversity of Nepal ranges from the sub-tropical Terai region in the south, with an elevation of only 300 feet above sea level, to the top of the world.
