Description:
| Barberton is a quiet colonial town is set into the De Kaap Valley and surrounded by the Makhonjwa Mountains, grasslands and woods. It can also lay claim to having some of the oldest sedimentary rock formations in the world. Many hiking trails can be found in these mountains, and Lone Tree Hill, just on the outskirts of Barberton, is one of the most popular hang gliding centers in South Africa.
The road into Barberton passes the township, Emjindini where some of our placements are located. We work with the communities at Emjindini and within Barberton, at pre-schools, creches and orphanages. We also send volunteers to this area to teach English and many other subjects in schools. | |
