Description:
| Based in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park, was established in 1992 by Project Director, Gregory Rasmussen, The Project is dedicated to the conservation of Africa's most endangered carnivore. A policy of conservation through action and education has seen a dramatic increase in the dogs fortunes, though there is still along way to go.
Research into the high mortalities caused by man is underway, the development of a reflective, anti-snare, radio collar one of the results to date. In order to further understand the needs of the Painted Hunting Dogs, habitat and vital communication skills are also being studied, with the results of the research being used to conserve the dogs. The project also operates a vital educational and awareness programme with local schools and farms.
