Description:
| ICYE-UK stands for Inter-Cultural Youth Exchange and was established in July 1993. The organisation is uniquely run by "young people for young people". Led by a management committee which is democratically elected by participants of the programme, everyone is encouraged to have their say and take part in the running and the direction of ICYE-UK.
ICYE-UK accepts participants aged 18 to 30 to stay in the UK for a period of 12 months. Volunteers are hosted by live-in projects, all of which aim at helping people in need.
The projects are located all over the UK and include Homes for the Homeless, Schools for Disabled Children, Residential Care Homes for Disabled Adults, etc. Volunteers take on a responsible role at the projects and need to be mature and independent. A conversational level of English is also required.
