Description:
| Feel the rhythm of Africa! Up to 60 different languages are spoken at any given moment in Ghana. With such a range of social values, the way to encourage harmony is through radio.
In Accra, you work at a news/talk station, gaining first-hand experience of programming, production, recording, research, news reporting and news-casting. It operates 24/7 and you can go to various departments or specialise in one.
You might begin in the News Department, scanning the newspapers and the Internet for the latest world and local news. You could read the news on air five times a day. Then it’s over to the Entertainment Department, researching topics for the lunchtime show, from the latest hairstyles to government decisions. Having identified your topic, it’s out into the street to record comments from the public for broadcasting. Finally, sharpen your copy-writing skills in the Advertising Department, writing and cutting radio ads. Typical program length is three months; minimum two months. Extra months available. | |
