| The International HUMANA People to People movement is currently running over 150 projects in Africa, Asia & Central-America. The projects aim at creating development within areas such as: basic health care, pre-school and primary school education, child care, vocational training, teacher training, environment and community development, AIDS prevention, etc. The projects reach out to a total of 1,5 million people in developing countries - and it is our wish and aim to reach out to a still greater number.
So far, more than 6000 Development Instructors (our word for volunteer) have participated in starting up and running these projects.
As a Development Instructor with Humana People to People, you participate in a 11-14 months program:
4-6 months of education at one of our Traveling Folk High Schools ;
6 months of development work in the projects ;
1-2 months of project evaluation back at the school and information work in USA or Europe.
After the program, different opportunities of long term work with Humana People to People are available.
