Description:
| SPW recruits and trains 18-28 year old volunteers to work in rural communities in Africa and Asia. Volunteers take part in 4-10 month Environment and Health Education programmes in Nepal, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and India. They engage with the most serious issues affecting young people in rural areas, such as AIDS, soil erosion and clean water and begin to help young people tackle these problems for themselves. American, European and Australian volunteers live and work alongside volunteer partners recruited from Africa and Asia. Together with a partner who understands the culture and the problems, volunteers achieve so much more. SPW is a non-profit making charity. | |
